Leonarda Farkaš is an 18-year-old athlete and member of the Agram Athletic Club. In addition to her sporting results, she can boast the title of Miss Sport of Croatia in 2017:
"Athletics is understood as an individual sport. People think that you are alone and do everything exclusively for yourself, but the reality is different. We all have a team behind us, the people we train with, our little community. „
As the brightest moment of her career, Leonarda highlights gold in all areas:
"My most beautiful memory is a gold medal in all areas because I have wanted to win in this discipline for a long time. Everything seemed impossible, things worked out so well that I couldn't achieve it, but in the end it happened."
Usually coaches are the people who give the best advice to athletes:
"I got the best advice from my coach, who told me that I have to be patient and that everything I do in life pays off in the end, although sometimes it seems like it doesn't."
But there are also difficult moments such as injuries:
"Injuries are inevitable in sport. But in everything, including injuries, something positive must be found."
When it comes to role models, the young athlete points out:
"My father is my sports and life role model. I would like to be like him one day, I admire how he was successful in life, raised me and was successful in sports."
"Togetherness shows you that you are not alone, that with you is someone who has the same ideas and goals as you, and someone with whom you can identify, has his support," said Leonarda.
Regardless of her youth, she would say to the upcoming athletes
"Nowadays young people give up too often, they listen to the opinions of others and give up instead of trying to make their dreams come true. On the other hand, they are not willing to sacrifice to give up the pleasures for some higher purpose. „
